OK, I couldn't resist adding a few more improvements to my 3D room from the last attempt. I want to add a few more features to this room before I move on from this project.

There seems to be something about the previous render that I prefer compared to this one. I think it's to do with the lighting. This one you seem to have a point lamp floating around - and I can't see what object is emitting that light, even though it seems to be centered near the ceiling.

This then creates sharp specular highlights on the chairs, making them seem plastic - whereas in real life you'd get a much smoother lighting effect, similar to what you see on the table you've got there.

Would love to see the detail on the lights though.

Thanks Dion. Point taken about the lighting. It's not great. Still the specular shiny effect was intentional. I wanted to give the impression of highly polished, rich wood. Maybe the lighting doesn't show that properly or maybe I used the wrong specular algorithm. I might just play with increasing the lighting or add another light on the invisible side of the room to create more ambience.

I think the wall colour could also be lighter.
